A Touching Story..

My mom only had one eye. I hated her... She was such an embarrassment.
She cooked for students and teaches to support the family.
There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me.
I was so embarrassed.
How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my classmates said, "EEEE, your mom only has one eye!"
I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear.
I confronted her that day and said, " If you're only gonna make me a laughing stock,

why don't you just die?"

My mom did not respond... I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said,

because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings.

I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard,
got a chance to go abroad to study.
Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own.
I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts.
Then one day, my Mother came to visit me.
She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren.
When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her,
and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited..
I screamed at her, "How dare you come to my house and scare my children!

" GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!"

And to this, my mother quietly answered, "Oh, I'm so sorry.

I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared out of sight.



One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.

So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.

After the reunion,

I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.



My neighbors said that she died. I did not shed a single tear.

They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.



"My dearest son,



I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to your house and

scared your children.



I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.

But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.

I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when

you were growing up.



You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident,

and lost your eye.

As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with one eye.

So I gave you mine.



I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me,

in my place, with that eye.

With all my love to you,

Your mother.

Always tell someone that you love them because you never

know what day will be their last, or your own.



Always seek to resolve your problems or disagreements with

loved ones because if either of you should pass on before,

the one who is left alive will have the rest of their life to ponder those

unresolved feelings but will never find closure.

And closure usually brings Peace...

STORY SUMMARY

As the great ship Titanic made her way from Queenstown to New York City, she steamed through the North Atlantic. Nearing the Grand Banks, she had to skirt a dangerous area called Iceberg Alley.

On the evening of April 14, 1912, Titanic’s wireless operators (Jack Phillips and Harold Bride) received ice warnings from ships in the area. Some of the messages had been given to the bridge, for the captain to review. Others had not.

One warning, from the Mesaba, came in at 9:40 p.m. It was not marked "MSG" (short for Masters' Service Gram) which would have required Captain Smith to see it - and sign off on it. Historians think it likely Smith never saw the message.

Freezing cold, in Titanic’s crow’s nest, the lookout crew kept watch. The beautiful sunset was a distant memory as Frederick Fleet and Reginald Lee neared the end of their watch. It was difficult to see the horizon, or much of anything else, on this moonless, windless Sunday night. The seas were completely calm, eliminating any chance to see water breaking at the base of any icebergs. Without binoculars, which the crew could not find, the lookouts had to rely on their own unaided eyesight.

Suddenly, Fleet thought he saw "a black mass." Knowing it had to be an iceberg, he instantly rang the bell three times (warning of “ice straight ahead”) and telephoned the bridge.

William Murdoch, then chief officer on the bridge, immediately ordered the helmsman, Robert Hitchens, to turn the wheel “Hard astarboard.” At 11:40 p.m., about thirty seconds after Fleet first saw the iceberg, Titanic struck it with her starboard bow. Scientists, assessing the situation years later, believe Murdoch could have saved the ship had he not given the order to turn it.

Within five to ten minutes after striking the berg, the ship had a starboard list of 5 degrees.

By midnight, Captain Smith and Thomas Andrews (Titanic’s designer) knew the ship would sink. Five forward compartments had flooded. She could stay afloat with four flooded compartments, but not with five. And although Titanic had more lifeboats than current laws required, there weren’t enough for everyone.

It wasn’t just the lack of lifeboats that adversely impacted so many passengers, however. The crew did not realize that davits, holding the boats in place, were strong enough to bear the weight of a fully loaded vessel. Had the crew conducted a drill, or had they known the facts, they could have saved more lives. Instead, many lifeboats were lowered to the sea with lots of open spaces.

Titanic sank at 2:20 a.m. Captain Smith went down with the ship. It is estimated that an additional 1,491 lives were lost.

At the time I was driving on 1-75 near Dayton, Ohio, with my
wife and children. We turned off the highway for a rest and
refreshment stop. My wife Barbara and children went into the
restaurant. I suddenly felt the need to stretch my legs, so waved
them off ahead saying I'd join them later. I bought a soft drink,
and as I walked toward a Dairy Queen, feelings of self pity enshrouded
my mind. I loved the Lord and my ministry, but I felt drained, burdened.
My cup was empty. Suddenly the impatient ringing of a telephone nearby
jarred me out of my doldrums. It was coming from a phone booth at a
service station on the corner. Wasn't anyone going to answer the phone?
Noise from the traffic flowing through the busy intersection must have
drowned out the sound because the service station attendant continued
looking after his customers, oblivious to the incessant ringing.
"Why doesn't somebody answer that phone?" I muttered. I began
reasoning. It may be important. What if it's an emergency? Curiosity
overcame my indifference. I stepped inside the booth and picked up
the phone. "Hello," I said casually and took a big sip of
my drink. The operator said: "Long distance call for Ken Gaub."
My eyes widened, and I almost choked on a chunk of ice. Swallowing hard,
I said, "You're crazy!" Then realizing I shouldn't speak to an
operator like that, I added, "This can't be! I was walking down the road,
not bothering anyone, and the phone was ringing..." "Is Ken Gaub there?"
the operator interrupted. "I have a long distance call for him."
It took a moment to gain control of my babbling, but I finally replied,
"Yes, he is here." Searching for a possible explanation,
I wondered if I could possibly be on Candid Camera! Still shaken,
perplexed, I asked, "How in the world did you reach me here?
I was walking down the road, the pay phone started ringing, and I
just answered it on chance. You can't mean me."
"Well," the operator asked, "is Mr. Gaub there or isn't he?" "Yes, I am
Ken Gaub," I said, finally convinced by the tone of her voice that
the call was real. Then I heard another voice say, "Yes, that's him,
operator. That's Ken Gaub." I listened dumb-founded to a strange voice
identify herself. "I'm Millie from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. You don't
know me, Mr. Gaub, but I'm desperate. Please help me." "What can I
do for you?" She began weeping. Finally she regained control and
continued. "I was about to commit suicide, had just finished writing
a note, when I began to pray and tell God I really didn't want to do this.
Then I suddenly remembered seeing you on television and thought if I could
just talk to you, you could help me. I knew that was impossible because I
didn't know how to reach you, I didn't know anyone who could help me find you.
Then some numbers came to my mind, and I scribbled them down." At this
point she began weeping again, and I prayed silently for wisdom to help her.
She continued, "I looked at the numbers and thought, couldn't it be
wonderful if I had a miracle from God, and He has given me Ken's phone
number? I decided to try calling it. I can't believe I'm talking to you.
Are you in your office in California?" I replied, "Lady, I don't have
an office in California. My office is in Yakima, Washington." A little
surprised, she asked, "Oh really, then where are you?"
"Don't you know?" I responded. "You made the call."
She explained, "But I don't even know what area I'm calling.
I just dialed the number that I had on this paper." "Ma'am, you
won't believe this, but I'm in a phone booth in Dayton Ohio!"
"Really?" she exclaimed. "Well, what are you doing there?"
I kidded her gently, "Well, I'm answering the phone. It was ringing
as I walked by, so I answered it." Knowing this encounter could only
have been arranged by God, I began to counsel the woman. As she told me
of her despair and frustration, the presence of the Holy Spirit flooded
the phone booth giving me words of wisdom beyond my ability. In a matter
of moments, she prayed the sinner's prayer and met the One who would
lead her out of her situation into a new life. I walked away from that
telephone booth with an electrifying sense of our heavenly Father's
concern for each of His children. What were the astronomical odds of
this happening. With all the millions of phones and innumerable
combinations of numbers, only an all-knowing God could have caused
that woman to call THAT number, in THAT phone booth, at THAT moment
in time. Forgetting my drink and nearly bursting with exhilaration,
I headed back to my family, wondering if they would believe my
story. Maybe I better not tell this I thought, but I couldn't contain
it. "Barb, you won't believe this! God knows where I am!"

CHANGING STARTUP & LOG-OFF SCREENS...

Startup Screen

1. Create a 320x400 bitmap in the root directory and name it LOGO.SYS
2. You can use LOGOW.SYS file in the Windows directory as a starter

Logoff Screens

1. There are many system file that constitutes Lofoff screen.
2. They are actually bitmaps 320x400 that just have a different extension
3. The hidden file in the root directory LOGO.SYS is the startup logo.
4. There are two files in the Windows directory.
5. LOGOW.SYS is the Wait while Shutting down ... screen.
6. LOGOS.SYS is the You may now shut-off or Reboot screen.
7. Make two new image files of your chice in Paint and name it as LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS and replce the actual windows file by this two.
8. But make sure they should be of the same size

Keep the initial size same as recommended and maximum size double of it then restart your system.

Windows tricks : Lock a Folder in Windows XP

To Lock a folder in windows XP without any software. Follow the steps Below.

1. Make a Folder in C drive rename it as "abc" without quotes.
2. Now open Command Prompt from Start Menu.
3. Type "attrib +s +h C:\abc" without quotes and press enter.
4. This command will Make your folder invisble and it can not be seen even in hidden files and folders
5. To make it visible again type "attrib -s -h C:\abc"
6. You can lock any other folder also by changing the location C:\abc to address of your folder.

2. Click on Inbox or whichever folder you have stored your mail.
3. Open the mail.
4. If you do not see the headers above the mail message, your headers are not displayed. To display the headers,
* Click on Options on the top-right corner
* In the Mail Options page, click on General Preferences
* Scroll down to Messages where you have the Headers option
* Make sure that Show all headers on incoming messages is selected
* Click on the Save button
* Go back to the mails and open that mail
5. You should see similar headers like this:
Yahoo! headers : name
Look for Received: from followed by the IP address between square brackets [ ]. Here, it is 202.65.138.109.
That is be the IP address of the sender!

In this case, the IP address of the sender is [69.140.7.58]. Jump to step 9.
7. Or else if you have headers like this

In this case, the IP address of the sender is [61.83.145.129] (Spam mail). Jump to step 9.
8. * If you have multiple Received: from headers, eliminate the ones that have proxy.anyknownserver.com.

Click IMVironment button, select See all IMVironments, select Yahoo! Tools or Interactive Fun, and click on Doodle.
After loading the Doodle imvironment there can be two possibilities

1.If the user is offline Doodle are will show this "waiting for your friend to load Doodle" continuously .See in the picture below:












2. If the user is online (but in invisible mode), after few seconds (it can take up to one minute, depending on your connection speed), you should get a blank page like in the picture below. So you know that the user is online.

1. Go to Start ----> Run . Type regedit, then enter .

Method 1

Revealing the Headphone and Car-Kit menus

Please note that if you do these next tricks, the new menus can't be erased without retoring the factory default settings. To do these tricks you need to short-circuit the pins on the bottom of the phone next to where you plug in you charger.

1. To activate the "Headset" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "3" and "4". After a short time the word "Headset" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-6 is now enabled.

2. To activate the "Car" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "4" and "5". After a short time the word "Car" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-7 is now enabled.

THE REBOOT TRICK

This should work on all software versions of the 6110.

1. Go to the Calendar (Menu-8)

2. Make a note or reminder.

3. Enter some text into the edit box.

4. Hold "Clear" until the whole text is cleared, then press "Back".

5. Press "0". The main screen will now be showing but a space appears on the screen. (you can't see it)

6. Enter 4 digits (e.g. 1234).

7. Use the down arrow to move the cursor to the left side of the numbers and the space (Down arrow twice).

8. Now enter 6 digits and press the call button.

Wait for a few seconds, the screen should start to flash and reboots. It should alsowork on other menus like the "Profiles" menu.

EFR CALL QUALITY

To activate EFR (Enhanced Full Rate) Enter the code-

THE JAMES BOND TRICK

If you short-circuit theleft middle and right pins on the bottom of the phone with all connections touching each other, the Nokia software hangs! The profile "Headset" will be activated. Before you do this just activate the "Automatic Answer" in the headset profile and set the ringing volume to "Mute". Now you can use your phone for checking out what people are talking about in a room. Just place it under a table in a room and call it. The phone receives the call without ringing and you can listen to what people are saying.

NETWORK MONITOR

There is a hidden menu inside your Nokia phone. If you want to activate it, you'll have to re-program some chips inside of your phone.

1. Check your software version. You can only continue if you have v4.33, v4.73 or v5.24.

2. Take apart the phone.

3. De-solder the EEPROM (ATMEL AT 24C64).

4. Read out the data with an EEPROM programmer and save it to a file (Backup).

5. If you have v.33 or v4.73, change the address "03B8" from "00" to "FF".

6. If you have v5.24 then change the address "0378" from "00" to "FF".

7. Write the new data to the EEPROM and solder it back to the phone,

8. Power on your phone and you should have "Netmonitor" enabled.

CHECK SIM-LOCK

Note - If you bought your Nokia on UK Vodafone or UK Cellnet you do not need to check this because they both transmit on GSM900, and they don't lock the phones. However if you bought your phone on UK Orange or UK One2one your phone may be blocked. The reason is that they both transmitt on GSM1800. To make a call on GSM1800 you need what is known as a "Dual band" phone. A dual band phone is able to transmit on both GSM900 and GSM1800, so they lock the phones so you can't use it with any other network simcard. If you find that your phone is locked you can try different software to unlock it. (we havn't found one that works yet), or you can ask your service provider who will gladly exchange the 10 digit code for about £35.

This is how to check the status of the 4 different locks. Aslo don't try entering the wrong number, because after 3 times it will block the phone for good.

The master code is a secret code. The code has 10 digits, To read out the sim-lock status you can enter every combination you want!

"Y" Shows the status of the network-lock. Here you can enter a number from "1" to "4". The "4" is for the sim-card lock.
